About Me

I grew up in Dubuque, Iowa along the banks of the Mississippi River. I loved all things outdoors, which prompted me to pursue a career in managing natural resources. My wife, Erin, is also a faculty member at UGA and studies child development. We have two children, Amelia and June, and we love to spend time together outside.

Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities that I either pursue individually or with friends and family. I love sports and regularly play pickup basketball. Erin and I have run a couple marathons and enjoy staying active by hiking, biking, and swimming. I am an avid bow hunter and enjoy taking trips to the mountains.
